This project work sets out to Design and Implement an online admission system for students applying for any tertiary institution of their choice. It has been observed that the major disadvantages of file based admission system is the problem of loss of data, due to outbreak of incidents fire out breaks, house hold pests devouring students information ,missing records due to carelessness, also, stress on the side of the admission officers in compiling and organizing results and necessary information is greatly reduced. This is a major reason for the design and implementation of this research work, which will also go a long way in removing the distance barriers students’ face in all in the name of applying for an institution. This research also inculcates the use online payment system, using REMITA as our payment platform, and also, a gallery which displays various universities of their choice for them to have a serene view and knowledge about schools they are applying for. The system also works with JAMB (Joint Admission and Matriculation Board),in such a way that they upload results for those who are qualified from their various intuitions, so that to our system would enable students who are qualified for that institution to continue their admission process into that institution and also pay for the application form to the same institution, and after they are done, when the time for the institutions to release their Admission list, the system notifies applicant to check for their names. Object Oriented Hypermedia and Design Methodology (OOHDM), was found efficient to Web applications as navigational views over an object model. Thus, this work is to be deployed on the cloud, using the Software as a Services model for a very efficient user experience. PHP and JQuery were the programming languages used for its design. Structured Query Language (SQL) was used for the database. The project work offers efficient file management in corporate establishment. With this system,we hope to digitalize the form of admission system in Nigeria, thereby resulting to technical advancement in the society at large.
